Delaney J. Linville

“I want people to feel seen in media when they share traits with the characters I bring to life; I want to take stereotypes and tropes and turn them on their heads, showing how people can’t fit into easily labelled boxes. Humanity is complex and how we represent ourselves should be too.”

Delaney is an illustrator, concept designer, art historian, creative writer, and essayist; more than all of them, she is a storyteller.

Delaney is a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design pursuing her B.A. in Illustration with a minor in Art History and plans on pursuing her M.A. in Art History. If given the opportunity to learn something new, whether information or an activity, she will take it in a heartbeat.

An equally important aspect of her life is activism, which is often portrayed in her stories through metaphors and symbolism—both obvious and subtle. She researches to be as accurate as possible and is deliberate with her choices, making sure they always have a story to convey. Because what is art but a statement; and what is a statement if it means nothing?
